1948 MG TC Race Car Supercharged

Project Car

This 1948 MG TC was the second MG purchased in our collection. Don Martine purchased this TC in Pacific Grove in 1964.

It was equipped for racing with Alfin Brake drums, 6:00x16 Dunlop Racing Wire Wheels and Marshall Supercharger.

The engine is 1488 cc, bored and sleeved, MK II valves and springs, ported and relieved, balanced, Scat crank, Carillo rods, Aires pistons, exhaust extractor, aluminum fly wheel, Gold Star clutch, 4 speed transmission, hydraulic brakes ,radiator pressurized 9 lbs and recored, lowered.

The TC was originally Clipper Blue.

I have no information on it’s early racing history. I have raced this TC since 1975 in autocross, rallies and on the track. It has run at Riverside, Portland, Sears, Thunderhill, Laguna Seca, etc. It is normally a top 10 finisher. I have run more than 75 races with 2 DNF’s.
